I put these in the trolley in Asda when we did our big shop last week, I'm not mad for drinking any cup a soups but like adding them to gravy because they thicken it as good as Bisto and have usually got less calories and an unusual flavour. I must be going blind because I was sure the box said BEEF & Vegetable in the supermarket but when I got them home it was CHICKEN & Vegetable! lol I tried one as you're supposed to so I could write this review and it wasn't that bad. The soups were only 20p for 4 sachets and that's a bargain because they do taste quite nice, I thought it was very salty and the flavour of the soup was more like a thickish chicken ... I have been buying instant soups for a while for my lunches. For some reason I was not keen to try the ASDA Smartprice soups even though I am usually the first to go for the cheapest option available. Maybe it was the picture of the mug of soup on the packet. The Packet is green and white, in line with the usual smartprice packaging, it has a picture of a white mug with the soup in. The soup looks a slightly green colour with carrot and unspecified green vegetable bits floating around in it. Preparation As with other soups of this genre, the sachet is emptied into the mug and then the mug filled with boiling water. The soup took quite a bit of ... Read the complete review

I have always been a fan of buying the no frills products that supermarkets offer. I have had a lot of success in finding many products that taste massively similar to the real branded item at sometimes about 1/10 of the the price. Therefore, when i fancied some soup the other day i decided to try this out, and i really was not disappointed. Prices ------- I was able to pick up 5 boxes, in a special offer, for 68p. I was really chuffed with this deal, obviously meaning that i was paying about 18p for each pack of soup. I thought i had found a real bargain. Taste ------- The taste was also really good. It ... My sister prepared me one of these Chicken & Vegetable Instant Soups from the Asda Smart Price range today as she had recently bought a box and couldn't make her mind up if she liked them or not. I thought the soup was very nice and couldn't quite believe it when she told me she had paid just 20p for four sachets as this seems an amazing bargain considering the price of Batchelors Cup-A-Soup. You make it in exactly the same way, adding boiling water to the powder in a cup or mug. Personally I always use a smaller mug than usual when making this kind of soup and in this instance a full sized mug is a bad idea as the soup was rather more watery than I ... I've never been shy of buying 'no frills' own brand products from supermarkets. Most of the time the food is just the same as the more expensive brands but its packaged differently. That's my view anyway. These soups are absolutely fantastic, quick and easy to make and taste great! The soup isn't the same as is pictured above, that's the older version of the soups. - Packaging - The main box is simple, white with green writing which is similar to all of the Asda - Smartprice products. The ingredients are stated boldly on the back of the box in green writing. As is the nutritional value, instructions for preperation, allergy advice and best ... Read the complete review
