Advantages: cheap and good tea dunking biscuits

Disadvantages: filling needed to be more creamy in texture

As we are now in full blown recession I think everyone is watching their pennies, least of all me. I usually buy the supermarkets own brand products anyway because a lot of the time you wouldnt notice the difference. I normally shop at Sainsburys but this time I popped into Asda. I was picking up my usual items to put in the trolley when I fancied some biscuits so thought I would try their own brand of custard creams as these biscuits are the perfect dunker!
They cost me 23p I think for a big packet, and so thought cant loose really. The packaging is not at all appealing, as they come in a thin white celophane with a red band across the front, but packaging never bothers me as its all just for show.
When I opened them up there were a few broken ones, but when I tried one I was quite pleasantly surprised. They had a crunchy biscuit top and the filling inside was plentiful with a really good custard flavour. The filling wasnt as creamy as I would of liked, and it was more crumbly so found they needed to be dunked in tea to soften them a bit, but still yummy!!

Summary: overall a good biscuit for the price, but not quite creamy enough for me
