Advantages: sweet

Disadvantages: full of sugar

I have a strong suspicion that supermarket's own brand biscuits are fast catching up with, and in some cases overtaking, the top brands.

Here, Asda have released their own Custard Creams for around 30p a pack. You get around 30 biscuits for that, so it's a real bargain but are they any good?

As with all of this range, the packing is simple and plain but that's not what you're going to eat is it?

Yellow cream sandwiched between two sweet biscuits can be found within. They look just like any other brand, although I think possibly the biscuits look a little more anaemic but I can't be sure.

Texture wise they're crunchy and crackly in your mouth, making pleasant sounds as you eat them. However, they soon go soft if left out, and that's a waste of time then so eat them within a few days of opening or put them in a sealed box.

The taste is nice. The biscuits are a little over sweet, with a whole heap of cheap sugar put in to make up for the other more expensive ingredients. The cream is lovely - smooth and creamy, it really makes the biscuit.

All in all, a nice biscuit, almost as good as the expensive ones.

Summary: do it
