Advantages: Tasty, cheap

Disadvantages: Caged hens

I've been attempting to do what bodybuilders call 'bulking up' over the last few months and one of the staple things you need for this is lots of good protein. Obviously eggs provide this in abundance, so i needed to find somewhere where they were both affordable and tasty.

I headed down to asda where i found these eggs! I bought 30 for just 2.99, which obviously works out at about 10p an egg! Even i, as a student could afford this price.

I got home and checked the packaging, there was nothing bad about my 'cheap eggs', with over 7grams of protein per egg i was in heaven. I could have my staple 4 egg breakfast at a cost of just 40p! Brilliant.

When i took them out of the saucepan, to be honest i wasnt expecting much, but i was totally wrong, they were really tasty eggs and were of a good size as well.

Obviously, the one disadvantage are that they come from caged hens. Whilst i prefer to think of the chickens running around a field happily, i just cant afford free range on my student budget, so im glad that the alternative is there, even though i realise thats harsh!!

Summary: A muscle building staple
