... than price does not always mean something is better than something cheaper. I paid 57p for a 400g pot which is a saving of around £1.00 against Nutella which is always a nice saving. This spread is provided in a clear jar with a white screw top lid. Once the lid is removed there is a foil lid which I love to stab with my knife and then just peel back. This part needs to be completely removed if you are going to attempt to put this pot in a microwave as the foil can cause an explosion. The spread itself is a choc...more

I love sandwiches and toast as a snack throughout the day and sometimes this is the only thing that I can face when I get home. I like to ensure that I have lots of spreads and yummy things to put on toast just to tempt me to still eat something on the evenings when I just can't be bothered. I shop in Asda rarely so stock up on products when I visit and when I spotted this Smartprice Chocolate Hazelnut Spread I decided to buy some as I've not had it before and it brought back all the memories of trying to convince my Mum that chocolate spread was a delicious, yet still healthy lunch while getting her to fork out for the most expensive one. I've learnt my ...  Read the complete review

While in Asda recently I decided to try a few items from their Smart Price range, one such item being the Hazelnut Chocolate Spread which is priced at just 57p for a 400g jar. When my friend arrived with her two young grandchildren today I did both of the children a chocolate spread sandwich and they appeared to enjoy it so much that I ended up cooking myself a couple of crumpets and spreading them generously with the chocolate spread for a little treat. It really is very good indeed. It isn't as glossy as the Nutella I usually buy for my granddaughters but the chocolate spread is very tasty with a good rounded chocolate flavour and the underlying ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Hazelnut Chocolate Spread: choc-tastic (354 words)

Asda smart price chocolate hazlenut spread is my daughters all time favourite sandwich filler, she has it all the time as a snack and in her packed lunch. The jar I buy looks a little different from the one pictured above, mine has a basic green and white wrapper as with all Asda's basic range that I buy. The chocolate spread is priced at 63p for a 400g jar which is a real bargain, especially for me as I get through loads of it. The top branded chocolate spreads can cost anywhere up to £2 which gives you an idea of the savings made from this. Once the lid is removed there is a foil seal inside to keep it fresh which is the same as you get ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Smartprice, thick spread! (640 words)

My kids love there chocolate spreads, but after a recent shopping trip I was horrified on how much the Nutella branded one actually costs, I know I should check before buying it, but I tend to throw in what I need without much thought. After discovering the extortionate cost I decided I would have to have a little shop around or even try another brand. Now I have no qualms about using Asda's cheaper and no frills brand "smart price", so was surprised and happy that they also now do a chocolate spread as well, the fact their branded spread is also £2.00 cheaper than Nutella was a draw. The spread comes in a decent sized glass jar with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Hazelnut Chocolate Spread: Smells divine but a bit sickly for me. (330 words)

Well I had never bought Chocolate spread before, it is one of those things that I never had when I was younger and living with my parents so it was never something I thought about buying. It didn't really appeal to me either, don't get me wrong I love a bar of chocolate like most people but chocolate on bread ??? Anyway my little girl had been to a party and they had chocolate spread sandwiches there, well you would have thought it was some rare and exotic food by the way she was raving about it the best thing about the whole party apparently. So the next time I was out shopping I thought I would buy her some, I was quite surprised by the choice available smooth, thick, ...  Read the complete review
