Advantages: Very good price, nice size jar, smells lovely

Disadvantages: Very thick, a bit too sweet but thats just my taste buds yours may be different.

Well I had never bought Chocolate spread before, it is one of those things that I never had when I was younger and living with my parents so it was never something I thought about buying. It didn't really appeal to me either, don't get me wrong I love a bar of chocolate like most people but chocolate on bread ??? Anyway my little girl had been to a party and they had chocolate spread sandwiches there, well you would have thought it was some rare and exotic food by the way she was raving about it the best thing about the whole party apparently. So the next time I was out shopping I thought I would buy her some, I was quite surprised by the choice available smooth, thick, white, dark, all mixed together, nutty, plain and the differences in price there was a value one for 45p going up to a posh brand for £3.00 odd. I opted for the Asda own brand at a coming in at 79p for a 400g glass jar. When you first open it the smell hits you, it is a very strong chocolate smell that makes you want to just stick your tongue in and lick it (you will be pleased to know I resisted). It is fairly thick and I found it hard to spread on my fresh loaf it kept ripping the bread as it was so thick. It was fine on toast though as the heat semi melts it. I thought it was very sweet and left me very thirsty, my daughter loved it and wanted it in her packed lunch. I have nothing to compare it to as I have never tried other brands but I thought for the price it was a good product, tasted nice and did its job. A bit thick though.
Ingredients are sugar, vegetable oil, hazelnuts, fat reduced coca powder, sweet whey powder, emulsifier (soya).
Per 100g there are 566 Kcal and 36.2g fat.

Summary: A fair quaility own brand product that my daughter loved.
