... packaging is plain and unattractive. Unlike the Tesco products which has pictures of fruit on the lid to make it more appealling. Taste and texture-wise, I would say these are excellent for the money. Obviously compared to premium products they are nowhere near as creamy or thick, and don't contain anywhere near as much fruit. However, I have tried "Value" Yogurts from both Tesco and Morrisons and the Asda Smart Price ones are far superior. Both the other supermarket branded yogurts were not as thick as the As...more

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt: My 'Ice-Cream Yoghurt' (229 words)

These Asda Smartprice Strawberry flavoured yoghurts are available in singles at just 9p or in a pack of six (six strawberry and six black cherry) for just 43p. There is also a Toffee flavoured one available singularly for 9p. The pots are 125g and have just 98kcal per pot. These yoghurts have been on our shopping list for a while now after someone recommended them to me. But to me they are not 'eating yoghurts' they are far to watery for my liking. Don't get me wrong they are not at all bad for 9p but I couldn't say that I would immensely enjoy eating one on its own. Poured over fruit they are quite good. They do have a slightly 'artificial sweetener ...  Read the complete review

I am trying to loose weight but I do feel a little put out not being able to have some thing after my dinner when every one else has a pudding, so the ideal thing for me is a low fat yoghurt. But as a mum on a tight budget spending 52p on a Muller light yoghurt is really out of the question as I might go through 10 yoghurts a week so that would be £5.20 on top of my weekly shopping and I really cant afford that, so when I save Asda's Smartprice Strawberry Yoghurt at 9p a pot I thought I couldn't go wrong. The yoghurts come in the standard Smartprice packaging of green and white, with no picture on the tub, but it has all the information you need. ...  Read the complete review

Instead of buying Muller lights I sometimes pick up a few of these. They are available from Asda and cost just 28p. You can buy them individually or they come in packs of four. I must admit I was quite dubious when I first saw them because they don't exactly look very appetising in the green and white, very plain pot but I was plesantly surprised. When you peel back the foil lid, you are met with a pale pink substance and you will find that this yogurt has no pieces floating around in it. When I opened one of these for the first time I nearly chucked it straight in the bin for two reasons; one being that the yogurt was so pale that it didn't look very ...  Read the complete review

First of all I will tell you that I absoutly love yogurts, and will always have one with my sandwich at lunchtime. However with the recession (which I am sure we are all aware of!) I decided it was time to try and cut down on some of the non essentials. To be honest I didnt really think I would be impressed with these as they were only 9p per pot. Like I say these yogurts are 9p per pot (have seen a few peope quote 10p per pot, but I have double checked that I did pay 9p). The packaging is typical asda smart price packaging. Green and white, very bland but gives you all the information you need. The yogurts are low fat (I have never actually ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smart Price Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt: These yogurts are yummy !! (950 words)

BACKGROUND I love yogurts – especially Strawberry, but find that branded yogurts tend to be a bit expensive. In my quest for economising and cutting down the cost of our weekly grocery shop, I decided to try a different brand. The brand I tried was Asda’s own label Smart Price Low Fat Strawberry Yogurt. THE PACKAGING The packaging rings true to the Smart Price label – plain and simple. The pot is mostly white in colour, but it does have a small section of red at the bottom. The Smart Price logo is at the top of the pot and then the words ‘Low Fat Strawberry Flavour Yogurt’ is written in red. The packaging ...  Read the complete review
