I love to make fairy cakes with my nieces and nephews and for my fiance but I like to try and do this as cheaply as possible. In the past I have purchased basic or value chocolate (milk and dark) and then melted it down with a little water and used it to top off my sponge cakes. This 'Smartprice' bar of Milk Chocolate is currently available from Asda for just 27p and this usually tops around 30 cakes. The packaging is basic but then I'd expect nothing more. It has the familiar Asda green and white colour scheme that I will always associate with cheaper products now. The chocolate is in squares and there is nothing fancy to it ... Having tried most of the supermarkets cheapest chocolate, I realized whilst doing my online shop that I hadn't eaten theirs yet so I threw one in the trolley. It cost me 27p for 100g bar which is exactly the same as everywhere else. So far my favourite has been the Sainsburys range but my mind has been changed since trying this one. The bar is basically packaged and doesn't look very appealing. When you open the wrapper you are met with 24 thin squares of brown chocolate. I know it's basic, I know it's cheap, I know there's not much of it...but I love this chocolate! Like most people, I'm a big chocolate lover. And no one can really dispute the quality of Galaxy and Thorntons etc. But while in Asda a little while back, I decided to give their Smart Price range bar of Milk Chocolate a go. I was only using it originally to melt down and put in a cake I was baking. But curiosity got the better of me and I tried a couple of squares. And then a couple more. Until I had to go out and buy another bar. I'd tried Asda's own brand chocolate before, but never from their Smart Price range. I was amazed by how good it tasted for ... Read the complete review

Asda sell a wide range of products from Colouring books to Socks, and they have stores all over the UK. The product I will be reviewing is Asda Smartprice Milk chocolate. The packaging**** The normal Asda Smartprice wrappers are White with Green strips. However for this product they have decided to go with a different strip of colour and now it has changed to the Tesco White and Red. I think this does work well, but personally I prefer the Green Strips. The Product**** The product I find is great for 32 pence, It delivers a smooth chocolate taste followed by a kick of sweetness, It can be kept going instead of swallowed in one ...
