Asda Smart Price Sweetcorn Description: Manufacturer: Asda / Type: Vegetables I have become quite open to trying value range goods in the last year or so and while there are some products that simply don't seem as good, there are also quite a few which are just as good as their brand name competitors. This sweetcorn is part of the Asda Smart Price range and comes in a white and green tin (the standard colours of their Smart Price range) with a picture of the corn on the front. A 326g can of this corn cost me just £0.37 which is a pretty good saving from some of the more expensive brands. Because this is a decent sized ... Read the complete review

Sweetcorn isnt the most exciting item in the world to write a review on I must admit, but I shall make a valiant attempt to try and extol its virtues in this write up about Asda Smart Price Sweetcorn. The can isnt the most dazzling on the market as you can see from the picture above. It is a basic, no frills design that wont jump out at you from the shelf but for me its a must have product that I buy every week. Unlike other brands who add salt and sugar to artificially enhance the flavour Asda simply give you a tin of Sweetcorn and water nothing else, so you dont have any hidden calories within this product. A 1/4 can serving will provide you ... Read the complete review

Asda Smart price range is great and the sweetcorn is another great addition. If like me you add sweetcorn to various meals that you are cooking and you are trying to keep the costs down I would definately recommend these to you. The sweetcorn comes in a 324g tin for 34p which is a very reasonable sized tin especially for the money and although not branded like Green Giant it doesn't have the branded price tag. The sweetcorn comes in salted water so I would recommend that you wash these under cold water before adding them to your cooking to make sure that you don't make things too over salty. The packaging for the tins is the normal ... Read the complete review

Asda Smart Price Sweetcorn is something I have only recently got involved in. Its 34p for a 324g tin and thats enough to feed four people easily, as its a fairly large tin. Ok so how does it look, well its not a looker by any means, in its ugly white and green packing, the tin screams discount brand, it looks cheap and immediately you realise you shouldn't expect too much from it, but you'd be wrong as I don't think its much different to more expensive brands in Sainsburys. Because there are so many kernels in a tin, I found I could use halve in a pasta concoction I created and save the other half for the next night, when the tin was opened the ... If you are a sweetcorn buff, you will know that a tin of green giant (despite their cute adverts) is quite pricey, costing sometimes up to £1 for the larger tins. Of course, when in the supermarket and you see this little beauty next to it for just 34p, you've got to ask yourself if the extra cost is really worth it. I'm happy to report, that in this case it is. As with all the smart price products, the sweetcorn in the range has the usual branding with the green and white, which isn't that delightful to look at, but there IS a picture of the sweetcorn to lighten up the tin and at least it is very recognisable and easy to grab in a hurry. It can often be ... Read the complete review
