At just 19p a tin, these are undoubtedly a real bargain. I can't help but think that this is the sort of thing where you don't need a brand name- surely sweetcorn is sweetcorn isn't it?
So these pieces of sweetcorn are presented in salted water, which preserves them. Because of this, you open the tin to bright yellow and fresh looking kernels, and they're like that throughout: so far so good.
Because they're in saltwater, they need a rinse off, and running them under the tap for a few seconds will do the job.
I like to eat them raw with a salad, and I have to say they are delicious. As you bite into them, they just explode in your mouth. They are juicy and ripe, and very moist. I really can't fault them.
Flavour-wise, they're a savoury item, and really the best thing about them is the colour they bring to the plate and the crunchy texture they bring to your mouth, and for this alone they're really worth getting.
You can put them in hot food too, and just heat them through whilst stirring them into a cooking pasta or whatever. If you do this, they may go a bit soft, but they are a nice staple addition to a diet.
All in all, a bargain addition to any meal!
Summary: do it

- 11/07/09 It's good sweetcorn, but the tins are just too big for me. |

- 10/07/09 Do you mean then, that all this time I've been paying extra for a picture of the Green Giant and not for a superior quality of sweetcorn? ho-ho-ho |
