Cheap As Chips But Healthier (Asda Smart Price Sweetcorn)

Advantages: Delicious in hot meals; Nice flavour; Loads cheaper than Green Giant

Disadvantages: Not crispy enough for me to have cold

I love sweetcorn and could eat it for every meal but Green Giant is proper expensive at the minute so my mum thought she'd try the Asda Smart Price one because it's only 34p for a 326g tin and that's even cheaper than the very small tin of Green Giant so that's a wicked saving because I eat sweetcorn most days and so does my mum.

Opening the tin it's obvious that this sweetcorn is a bit different from Green Giant because it's paler and they are not all the same size. The water is a bit cloudy as well but I always drain and rinse my sweetcorn so that doesn't bother me.

I had some in a stir fry and couldn't tell the difference in the taste of it. The sweetcorn is a bit crispy but not as much as Green Giant and has a yummy sweet flavour. It went good in my stir fry and also in a casserole that my mum did so she could use the rest of the tin up before it went off.

I had a bit with some salad as well but didn't like it as much as Green Giant because it's not crispy enough cold and was a bit like frozen sweetcorn when its defrosted. I'll carry on buying this Asda one for cooking and get a pack of 3 Green Giant tins for when I want cold sweetcorn on a sandwich or in a salad and it will still save us loads of money a week because my mum usually buys 3 packs of 3 tins a week and that works out at about £4.00 on the shopping bill just on sweetcorn.

The size of this one means that she'll only have to buy 3 tins a week and that's only just over £1.00 so even with my 3 tins of Green Giant we'll still be saving loads on something we buy very regularly.
