Asda smart price muesli costs 57p for 1kg bag. This is a big difference to the cost of muesli by other brands like Alpen. Instead of coming in a box Asda have put their smart price muesli in a plastic bag. The bag itself is easy to open but not easy to re-seal and does have the habit of when you open it of splitting so I would recommend another container to put the muesli in once you have opened it. The plastic bag cannot be recycled currently unlike the cardboard boxes that most cereals come in but I'm sure this will change sortly. The muesli itself is really tasty and even though it is the smart price version Asda haven't compromised on the ... Read the complete review

I love healthy cereal and I don't think you can get much better than a bowlful of muesli in the morning! This Muesli costs around 60p for a 1kg bag and it consists of oats, sultanas, wheat flakes, raisins and almonds. On opening the packet and pouring it into the bowl you can see that the majority of the cereal is made up of oats and wheat which is the 'standard' thing with most muesli's so it's not really surprising. There are a good mix of raisins and sultanas and as always with the cheaper muesli's, the almond flakes are few and far between. I usually tend to add quite a lot of milk to this muesli because the oats soak it all up and it ... Read the complete review

Asda's smart price muesli only costs 58p per kilo. I bought this on the grounds that if I don't like it, the birds can have it. It's actually cheaper than buying bird food at the local garden centre! I was expecting it to have approximately 1 raisin and a sliver of nut in every bowlful because it was so cheap. I was pleasantly suprised at the amount of fruit and nutty bits in there. The bag is very plain and a pain in the bum for someone like me who has to read something over breakfast. There is nothing to read on this particular cereal box/bag! (I wonder if anyone has ever thought of printing a serial on a cereal packet?) ... Read the complete review

Of late I've come to totally understand the meaning of the importance of breakfast. I've always in the past missed it or had a piece of toast splattered with butter and stuff and not given it a lot of thought! Until recently.... I've well documented on here my food issues. I've been seriously overweight and was actually deemed to be obese when I was younger. Then I developed Bulimia and my weight crashed and actually threatened to kill me. I love food. I hate food! I'm indecisive about it but it hasn't half given me issues over the years lol. So I had choices to make! I've had to totally revamp my lifestyle and I'm seriously getting there on the ... I'm a firm believer in the old cliche that 'you get what you pay for' so I'm always quite reluctant to buy any of the supermarket 'value' or 'smart price' ranges. But I also like a bargain, so I decided to try the Asda Smart Price Swiss Style Muesli on the grounds that 'its only muesli, how wrong can they get it?'. The muesli itself comes in a white and green packet (as do all of the Asda Smart Price products) and it contains 1KG of muesli for around 55 pence (the price has changed lately but only by a few pence). If you were to buy other branded muesli you could expect to pay around three or four pounds for that amount. So, price-wise it is very very ... Read the complete review
