Advantages: Easy and quick

Disadvantages: Can go dead hard if left in the oven too long.

I have been buying these Yorkshires for years. I know, I know it's a very lazy thing to do but no matter how hard I try, I just can't get m Yorkshire puddings to rise and by the time you buy all of the ingredients, it's probably less expensive to buy a pack of these.

These come in a pack of 12 which does three roast dinners in our house as we all have one each. They cost just 47p and you can find them in the freezers aisle.

When you open the packet you will be met with the perfect Yorkshire pudd. They are around four to five inches wide and around three inches high. They are a nice beige and tanned colour and the smell of the batter radiates off of each one.

The cooking instructions are very simple in that you just pop each one on a baking tray for 3-4 minutes and you are done; no mixing, whisking, pouring or rising! Just open the oven door and be met with a beautiful smell, pop them on top of your roast potatoes and vegetables and pour on the gravy.

These Yorkshires don't look particularly appealing in the Smartprice packaging but when you taste them you will wonder why you didn't try them before. They are nice and soft in the middle but have a bit of crispier edge to them. Obviously they are no where near as nice as mommas Yorkshires but they aren't far off considering you only have to pull them from the freezer.

The great thing is you don't just have to eat these with a roast dinner. I sometimes have them on there own if I'm feeling naughty or I will pop them on top of any meal that we have during the week. They are a real hit with all the family so faces light up when they see them appear on the plate.

My only gripe with these Yorkshires is that they don't stay frozen for very long at all. It's a bit of a race against time to get them from the supermarket to the home freezer before they turn into lumps of battered jelly. I do normally have an Asda shop delivered but they are still a little soft by the time I unpack them.

The another thing that can be a problem with these is if I accidently leave them in the oven for too long then they end up being so hard that you break a tooth trying to bite into them.

Over all these are really worth trying as there isn't much to loose if you don't like them. I have and do recommend because they are tasty, cheap and soooooooo convienient.

Summary: The best thing since sliced bread.
