I try to make my food from scratch most of the time but sometimes I just don't have the time and I find that my batter mix usually turns out, how do I say this......rubbish! I often buy this batter mix just to have in the cupboard. It's so cheap at just 8p that it would be a sin to not have it for emergencies. It's so easy to make and I find that it's a great way of having a quick and easy pudding that includes a splash of protein for my growing boys. All you need to do is add one egg and some water, beat it and you are ready to cook with it. Ever since pancake day this year I have had the urge to treat myself to pancakes at least once a month. Whilst I could indulge in the various pacakaged pancakes on offer in supermarkets, I have always preferred making them myself. When browsing the baking aisles of Asda recently I came across their own batter mix for just a mere 8p. All you need to add is an egg and water and you can make roughly 7 or 8 pancakes or yorkshire puddings. I was quite wary at first wondering if the product would taste disgusting but alas I was pleasantly surprised and the cupboards at home are now often stacked up with packets of them. I did suggest this category to Dooyoo a couple of weeks ago but they only accepted it today, so I'm a bit late for pancake day, sorry! A few weeks back I learned that pancake day was approaching, and I seemed to have pancakes on the brain for a while! I kept thinking about them, so decided to make some for my tea -so much for being healthy! Now I used to always make batter mix from scratch - after all, it's a very simple thing to make, requiring the use of only three ingredients - flour, eggs and milk (or the way I make it anyway).
