It is always good to grab a bargain and save a few pennies but when it comes to my bourbon Biscuits I will never make this mistake again. I love a bourbon biscuit every now and then and usually buy the Burtons ones, my little niece loves them too and therefore I always have some in the house. I noticed the smart price ones the other day on a regular trip to Asda and thought why not give them a try.

I opened them a couple of days later when my niece was visiting and gave her a couple, she realised straight away that they were not the same ones she usually gets but she ate them never the less. I thought I would have one with a cup of tea later and see what they were like, one bite and I knew why my niece had noticed the difference.

Compared to Burtons or any other brand of Bourbons I have tasted previously the biscuit was not as crunchy and instead of a creamy chocolate centre this chocolate centre seemed to break up and was a bit powdery like.

These biscuits are very inexpensive at only 13p per packet (around 15 biscuits) but they are nowhere near as good as the burtons ones which I will always buy from now on. The texture and flavour of these biscuits are not at all nice and I would suggest people pay the extra 15 or 16p for a brand name alternative.
