Advantages: A cheap but satisfying munch

Disadvantages: The cream if eaten on its own

I'm a huge chocolate fan so when it comes to biscuits I will naturally choose the Bourbon (or the chocolate digestive depending on what mood I'm in!). I'm not one for spending over the odds for most food products that will only end up as a turd floating around in the bottom of the toilet pan so I do try to sample the cheapest range first.

Asda Smartprice do a great range of cheap biscuits and these bourbon biscuits are no exception. They cost just 17p! Yes that's right guys, 17p! In this day and age it's pretty amazing that you can still buy anything for under 20p. The biscuits come in the very bland white and green packaging that is Smartprice and you will get around 15 biscuits per pack.

When you open the packet there isn't an overwhelming smell of chocolate but you can definately tell that they aren't any other flavour because of the colour. They are a nice rich brown and if you turn it on it's side you will see the darker brown cream that holds the two biscuits together. On the top there are big grains of sugar scattered around and the name of the biscuit is written over the surface.

The biscuits have a good chocolate taste to them and leave a nice after taste too. I think they definately match up to the leading brand and wouldn't understand why you would want to pay more for these satisfying treats.

I like to eat these on there own. I think dipping them in a brew spoils them and makes them go all soggy which I personally think is disgusting.I also like to eat them by biting straight through the biscuit and getting both layers of the crunchiness along with a bit of the cream. I don't understand the appeal of breaking off the top then scraping off the cream. I find the cream a little sickly by itself.

Over all these biscuits are highly recommended and for 17p you can't really go wrong.

Summary: Yum! Yum!
