Advantages: Cheap and tasty

Disadvantages: slightly thinner than other brands

My husband is a biscuit freak! He absolutely loves them and can merrily spend all evening munching away while watching the television. This is partly my reason for switching to basic brand biscuits, as he can get through several packets a week.

I accidentally picked up a packet of Asda Bourbon Creams instead of my own personal favourite custard creams, a couple of weeks ago. They are currently priced at 23p for a 200g pack. My disappointed when I was putting the shopping away was matched by my husband's pleasure as I never usually buy bourbons, and he realised that he would end up with the whole packet for himself.

The bourons are of similar size to other makes, although again the biscuit and the filing are slightly thinner than other brands. I did try one for "reasearch purposes" and (as like the custard creams) the biscuit part was incredibly light and crisp. Both the filling and the biscuit had a good strong chocolate flavour to them and my husband told me that they were just as good as any other bourbon he had tried.

On the whole for the price they are a really good buy, and the packet was finished off extremely quickly.

Summary: A good cheap biscuit
