... to the microwave for 2-3 minutes. I cook these noodles in the same way that I cook super noodles, I cook for 2-3 minutes, stir, cook for another 2-3 minutes and then once most of the water has disappeared I add the sachet of chicken flavouring and then put them back in the microwave for another 1-2 minutes until the last of the water has disappeared and the noodles have become a little bit hardened around the edges and the flavouring has been nice and evenly distributed. The chicken flavouring is not overpowering...more

I am always looking for cheap meals to save me a little bit of money and I found these noodles recently in my local Asda store. The price was 9p but I believe this changes a penny either way from time to time and I actually saw them again last week for 10p so I can't be exact! The noodles are provided in basic Asda Smartprice packaging which shows noodles on the front, advises that this is chicken flavour instant noodles and then has the familiar Asda Smartprice logo and green & white colour scheme just to let everybody nosying at your basket know that you're a cheap skate ;) You get 65g of noodles for your money, place them in to a ...  Read the complete review

General Info --------------- I started using these noodles at the start of university, as I really could not understand how chicken noodles could taste any different depending on what brand you choose to buy, and i was right! These are great tasting and cheap, just don't bet on a fit bill of health if you serve them up to your family. Price ------ The price is just ludicrous in my opinion. The noodles come in at a staggering 9 PENCE yes, you did read that correct. They are 9p which is an absolute steal when you compare it to rival brands such as Bachelors which are in the 80-90p bracket for one pack, meaning you ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles: These only cost NINE PENCE (482 words)

I am actually scoffing mouthfuls of these noodles in between typing this review! I am afraid I am one of these people who likes to sit and watch telly, or surf the internet when I am eating. So there I was finishing a review for something else and felt hungry. I couldn't be bothered cooking, so a search through the cupboards revealed a couple of packets of these noodles. I think it would be fair to say I am like most ordinary working people at the moment in that I need to watch the pennies. I normally make sure I get some Pot Noodles in for those times when I need to eat, but need to do online stuff as well, i.e. for ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review What's that 9p!!! (350 words)

I am always at a lost when trying to come up with new ideas for lunches. I makes it a little harder when you 2 year old does not eat bread unless its toasted, and to be fair toast everyday is hardly a good balanced diet. When shopping last week my husband asked me if we should try these noodles for Alexis's lunches and as I agreed we picked up several packets of the Asda smartprice Chicken instant noodles. At only 9p a pack, picking up 10 isn't going to break the bank. The noodles come in prawn and curry flavour as well as the chicken. The noodles cook very quickly in less than 3 mins just add them to boiling water and then ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles: Not a patch on Ramen noodles (541 words)

Like many people at the moment, I'm attempting to economise, mainly by switching a lot of my food and drink to the budget brands . In many cases, I haven't been able to taste much of a difference - although a few things have stuck out in my mind as being vastly different from my usual brand . I'm a noodle addict . Don't get me wrong, I love to cook big nutritious meals, but at the moment I live alone with a daughter of six who shies away from most things that have any more flavour than bread. Although my boyfriend appreciates my cooking, he's only with me one week of the month, so the rest of the time, I tend to feed myself with things that come in single ...  Read the complete review
