... being crumbly at the same time and the chocolate chips are a welcome treat in each mouthful. The chocolate tastes very nice and not cheap at all (which is what I was expecting). There are 52 calories per cookie which is actually quite a lot considering the size of them and as they are so small it's easy enough to find yourself eating 4 or 5 without breaking for air (at least that's what I find!). I was quite pleased with the cookie overall and felt the taste was very good considering that they are just 32p for 200g (...more

Okay so I'm hardly Angelica Pickles from the Rugrats - I do not devour cookie after cookie until I'm ready to burst! Though now and again I do enjoy the occasional chocolate chip cookie, and Asda Smartprice is the way to go! Asda's cookies come in the traditional green and white packet so they can easily be spied on the shelf. As you remove a cookie from the wrapper, you'll notice it fits snuggly in the palm of your hand. It's a pale shade of biscuit brown, the little specks of chocolate chip again a light shade of milk chocolate. The biscuit does not give off a strong aroma, though if you hold it close to your nose, you will notice that it has a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cheap as chocolate chips! (400 words)

I normally buy Maryland chocolate chip cookies, but when I was in Asda recently, I decided to try their smartprice chocolate chip cookies as they are a lot cheaper, and I'm trying to save money at the moment. ~Packaging~ These come in a plain white pack, with the product name written in green. The packaging is very basic, but that is one of the reasons they are so cheap - you do not have to pay for the fancy wrapping. The actual plastic of the pack is quite strong, and durable, and hasn't fallen apart even though I am near to the end of the pack. ~What I thought~ Removing a cookie from the pack, the first thing I noticed, was ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Chocolate Chip Cookies: Chocolate Chip Cookies At A Smartprice! (335 words)

When I saw these in the biscuit aisle recently I threw some in to my basket without much thought and it wasn't until last night that I tried them out. The biscuits are provided in a white and green plastic wrapping with the familiar Asda Smartprice logo and the relevant nutritional information as well as a picture of a teacup. The cookies themselves are probably just under 2 inches and they don't appear to have many chocolate chips in them (when compared to more expensive brands) however these are lovely and crunchy whilst being crumbly at the same time and the chocolate chips are a welcome treat in each mouthful. The chocolate tastes very nice ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review A salty cookie anyone? (305 words)

We don't tend to keep biscuits in the house because both Andrew and I can eat a packet each in one sitting. We usually have a 'big munch' at the weekend and eat whatever we fancy and this week I was in the mood for some biscuits so I ordered some to arrive with the Asda shop that was to be delivered on the Friday night. The biscuits cost me 38p and although I can't be sure of the exact numbers, I would guess that there was around 20-25 biscuits in the packet. They looked a bit smaller than the average cookie but I could see lots of brown chocolate chips scattered throughout a tanned biscuit. The biscuits were very crunchy and although I had my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Chocolate Chip Cookies: Filling My Tin With Cheap Cheap Cookies (270 words)

I often search for a healthier biscuit alternative when shopping such as Go Ahead or some form of cereal bar but whilst in Asda last week I decided to stock up my biscuit tin by buying a variety of their SmartPrice biscuits. On the list was a 200g packet of their chocolate chip cookies for just 34p. I actually compared the size to a pack of Maryland cookies which were 89p and found that their packs were only 150g. Upon getting them home the plain packaging isn't really as attractive as other more established brands with a white package and the usual green writing on it associated with Smartprice products but I honestly couldn't tell the difference between ...  Read the complete review
