The toffee is fairly creamy but doesn't have that 'ummmmm' factor that the Cadbury's version of these have. It's nice and chewy and would definitely be a contender for pulling out a tooth or filling but it almost has an artificial taste to it. The chocolate is of the dead cheap quality and there isn't an awful lot inside each éclair. I think there was be a tiny splash because just as you get a taste of it, it's gone forever! I ...more

I love chocolate éclairs so when I saw these in the 'sweetie' aisle whilst doing my Asda shop, I couldn't resist! They cost 36p for a bag of around 25 eclairs. They are of course exclusive to Asda; wouldn't it be strange to see these in Sainsbury's? The Eclairs are individually wrapped like any other Éclair that you would buy and they are made up of chocolate which is encased by a big, thick layer of toffee. These éclairs are fine for the price you pay but you can tell that they of the cheaper variety. Now I'm quite partial to a chocolate éclair or two (or three) and I'm also quite a fan of Asda's own brand of sweets. For that reason and that reason alone I splashed out the 32p to buy myself a bag of their chocolate éclairs. Asda's Chocolate Éclairs come in a very plain and therefore rather cheap looking bag. The bag itself is made of plastic has is green and white in colour with a clear sweet shaped window that allow you to see the plain wrapped sweets inside. The name of the sweets in question is then printed on the front of the bag in along with the information that the sweets contain no artificial and no hydrogenated fats as well as the fact that they ...  Read the complete review

Asda's own range is at it again, copying the famous eclairs. What are they: Chewy Caramel with a Milk Chocolate Centre would be the answer there. First up, the caramel is pretty hard, and takes some chewing to get it going. Whilst I like this (and they're particularly good for melting with a mouth-ful of coffee), they will pull the fillings out of your teeth if you have them. The caramel is very sweet, and a real joy to chew. Once you get through it, you're through to the luscious chocolate centre. Chocolate-wise, it's just right. Not too creamy (like Galaxy), but just creamy enough, (reminiscent of Cadburys), these guys make great ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cheap, chewy and tasty (287 words)

Whilst browsing in the sweetie section of my local Asda, I came across these and bought them mainly for the price - 32p!!!!!!! What a bargain. I absolutely love toffees, so I gave these a go. I was pleasently surprised as I was not expecting something really tasty for such a cheap price. The toffee part itself is a nice golden brown colour, not too soft but not too hard - don't worry you wont break your teeth when eating these. It does become chewy when eating, but won't stick your teeth together (great for those with false teeth - this has been tested by my dad.) It has a lovely creamy, rich taste, that isn't too sweet or sickly and has a lovely smooth ...  Read the complete review
