Asda smart price swiss roll is delicious. It is wrapped in a basic plastic wrapper, no frills or fancy bits but that helps to keep the price down which is great but be aware that you will easily squash this cake wholst shopping if not careful so dont put it at the bottom of your trolly, in the bottom of a shoping bag or under anything in your boot or you will have squashed swiss roll. This cake is made from a flat thin piece of chocolate sponge and cream, the cream is spread all over one side of the sponge then the sponge is rolled to make the swiss roll. The sponge on this cake is chocolate flavoured which is strong enough to be nice but ... Read the complete review

When my mum did an online shop at Asda last week she brought loads of the Smart Price stuff to try because she's signed up for a challenge to replace some of our weekly shopping with the proper cheapo supermarket brands. There's 5 of us in the house and we've all got a bit of a sweet tooth and my mum worked out that loads of the shopping money every week was going on Mr Kipling cakes and brand name chocolate and stuff and because this food isn't essential she'd been trying to make the biggest savings here. One of the things she tried was this chocolate swiss roll that was only 13p and I reckon it's brill for such a pathetic little price. The sponge ... Read the complete review

I don't eat a lot of cakes myself, but I'm always looking for something different to give the kids for a snack, and something that doesn't cost the earth either. And at 13p you can definitely say that the Smart Price Chocolate Swiss Roll fits the second criteria perfectly, but how does it taste? I'm not big on cakey kind of treats but my daughter and son both like a nice slice of cake after dinner. I was doing the weekly shop in ASDA and thought I could pick some cake up for them. I then spotted this and for the low price of just 13p I thought that they could try it, and it wouldn't really marrer if they didn't like it. It is a chocolate flavoured swiss roll with creamy vanilla flavoured filling. It is fairly small in size, both lengeth and width, but for 13p, I wasn't complaining. I didn't think we'd get through a big one anyway because my daughter tries to watch the calories and my son wouldn't eat a whole one. It looks quite desirable, it is a nice ... A cheap and tasty chocolatey treat! With no artificial colours or hydrogenated, they're not as bad for you as you might think! The soft chocolatey sponge melts in your mouth to reveal a yummy vanilla creamed flavoured filling. Just because the price is so small, doesn't mean that the quality of the product is in any way bad. They taste just as good as the more expensive ones. The swiss roll also comes in a plain sponge flavour with raspberry jam in the middle, it's just as nice as, but I love chocolate so always choose the chocolate ones. hehe! - Packaging - The packaging is a simple clear wrapper with the white and green ...
