smartprice chocolate swiss roll (Asda Smartprice Chocolate Swiss Roll)
Member Name: yorksbabe
Advantages: good value, moist sponge Disadvantages: not enough sponge, greasy cream i used to buy these for my two sons when they were a little bit younger because they absolutely love it after their tea with custard on the top. after having tried it myself i no longer buy them anymore and i will tell you the reasons why later. the swiss roll comes in a see through packet with green and white labelling on it. it feels quite squidgy to the touch which i think is nice as i dont like sponge when it is dry. it cost about 15p when i used to buy it which i think is great value for money. anyway back to my reasons, which are, 1. i feel that there isnt enough sponge as it is quite thin. 2. the buttercream tastes quite fatty and it left a greasy feel in the mouth. 3. if you eat a bit of the cream it kind of tickles your tongue which you get with cheap products. 4. i now make my own which the lads like even better! i do feel like this is a decent buy if you are on a budget. Summary: good if you are on a budget |
