Advantages: tasty and cheep
Disadvantages: none at all for me or my daughter
Asda smart price chocolate swiss rolls are always an item I have in my monthly shopping trolley as they are so cheep and tasty and my daughter loves them. I normally buy quite a few and freeze them so they last over the month and they taste just as good when de frosted.
The packaging the chocolate swiss rolls come in is very basic as with all the smart price items from asda, it is in green and white and sells at just 13p, which is a great price and to be honest what can you get nowadays for 13p that is decent!
I tend to have these as a pudding with custard as asda do a packet of custard for 7p so it makes a really cheep pudding idea at 20p and my daughter sometimes has a couple of slices of it in her packed lunch and also as a snack.
The swiss rolls come in two flavours to choose from, the chocolate and the raspberry, both of which are very nice.
The swiss roll does taste quite nice and there is a decent amount of cream filling inside and the chocolate has a nice spongy texture, I find you can easily get five slices out of one packet so it is very good value.
It does state on the packet that there are no artificial colours or flavours with these swiss rolls but does contain gluten, milk, wheat, eggs and soya and may contain traces of nuts and seeds. The nutritional value is also stated on the packaging as per 1/4 per cake : protein 0.9g, carbohydrate 12.2g, fat 3.2g, fibre 0.3g, sodium trace.
All round these are such a great bargain whether you have them as a snack treat or as a pudding you really cannot go wrong with these, well worth the 13p
Summary: so worth a try
