Advantages: Low price, no hydrogenated fats or artificial colours, tasty

Disadvantages: Sometimes they pile them up so high that the ones at the bottle are squished out of shape

At less than half the price of a higher brand chocolate swiss roll, this was a impulse buy to see how good it could really be for so little (when I first bought these they were 16p but the price does fluctuate).

This isn't any smaller than a regular higher priced cake but it does have much plainer packaging - using the white/green colours all Asda smart price good use. But honestly, unless you are a complete brand snob, why would you care about the packaging - so long as it keeps the product fresh it can be completely clear for all I care - I'm not planning to eat the packaging!

The sponge used in this swiss roll is moist but not too squishy and sticky, and firm enough to hold together when cutting slices without falling apart. It is filled with cream that is sugary but not too over the top and not too much or too little. As it goes quite a well balanced little treat.

This is a great cupboard staple for those chocolate craving moments, or for a quick and easy dessert after dinner - try sprinkled with seasonal berries and warmed custard or cream for something that looks and tastes amazing but costs pennies.

Summary: Try this and never go back!
