Asda Smart Price Milk Choc Digestives.... Spotted these cruising down the biscuit isle at asda - cheap as -at 27p so in the trolley they went, we already buy some of the other Smart Price Stuff so thought these would do the job. So my 27p got me 300g worth of biscuits about 20 of them I'd guess, on went the kettle and out with them. The packaging is standard no frills white and green 'Smart-Price' plastic. "Produced in the Uk For Asda Stores Ltd" I won't bore you with ALL the ingrediants and labeling etc BUT: Fat is 2.9g and Sodium (Equiv. as Salt) is 0.2g per Biscuit. On first opening pack they Look OK, with a ...  Read the complete review

I have an Asda around a ten minute walk away from me now so there really is no excuse for not having lots of lovely snacks and food stuffs in the house when guests drop by. I like to always ensure that the biscuit jar is kept well stocked with biscuits and cake bars. When I was browsing Asda recently I saw these 'Basics' Smartprice Milk Chocolate Digestives for just 32p and just had to try a packet. The biscuits come wrapped in a white & green cellophane and it's a long cylindrical shaped roll of biscuits. The packaging is cheap and thin and not very good at protecting the biscuits. As soon as I got mine home I just opened up the packaging and poured the ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Milk Chocolate Digestive: Smart Price, Smart Buy (566 words)

**Asda Smart Price Chocolate Digestive Biscuits** Asda, like many other major supermarkets, carry their own 'basic' range of goods. Simply packaged, value for money groceries, household and beauty products, aimed at the budget conscious shopper. In these days of the 'credit crunch', more and more shoppers are looking to save a few pennies on their grocery bills and with this in mind, I purchased a packet of Asda's Smart Price half coated chocolate digestive biscuits to try. Asda Smart Price products come in a fairly plain wrapper, white with green. These biscuits are wrapped in a plastic cover, which is, I must admit a little tricky to open. A pull tag would ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Smart priced Choccy Biscuits? (846 words)

I do love a choccy biscuit of an evening with my Horlicks so when I saw these today in Asda I decided to give them a whirl. Not actually because I'm skint but because at the moment I'm really trying to curb my excesses and and enjoying comparing 'cheap' alternatives to my usual choices. So far I have found that 'Basic, Value and Smartprice' products (such as these) are usually massively cheaper than brand makes however as a rule not better or even as good as but I keep trying them out hoping to strike gold! For me it makes sense to buy a cheaper packet of biscuits as I'm such a pig they're gone in 5 minutes anyway! lol. The Packaging.... Long white ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Milk Chocolate Digestive: THEY'RE CHEAP ENOUGH NOT TO HAVE TO RESORT TO THEFT!! (492 words)

Now, I like biscuits but they don't like me! They attack the most sensitive parts of my anatomy without concern for my waistline. Sadly, though, it's often the case that the bad things in life are the tastiest. I do like chocolate digestives, and like most people McVities tends to be an almost subconscious choice. My malaise was about to be shattered by an accidental, if somewhat unscrupulous discovery in the staff kitchen at work one tummy-rumbling morning about three weeks ago. There I was putting the kettle on (not Yorkshire Tea, sadly) when out of the corner of my eye I noticed this inconspicuous white packet with green writing on. Hmm, I thought, looks ...  Read the complete review
