Advantages: cheap, ok for kids
Disadvantages: hard, not very chocolaty
Asda Smart Price Milk Chocolate Digestive biscuits:
I was looking for some digestive biscuits when I saw these on the biscuit aisle at my local asda. They are cheap at only 27p so I bought them, mainly for the kids.
So for just 27p I got 300g worth of biscuits, appox 20 in the packet.
The packaging is plain white and green with the Smart-Price logo on the front.
The basic contents : Fat is 2.9g and Sodium is 0.2g per Biscuit.
They taste OK, nothing special, with a thin layer of chocolate on the top.
On the underneath are the words "Sweetmeal Digestive Biscuits"
The biscuit is quite a lot thinner than other well known brands. They seem claggy and dry too, ok to have with a coffee though.
The chocolate doesnt taste very chocolaty, and the base is a bit hard and crunchyI had a few burnt ones.
I am not a great lover of these digestives, but they will do for the kids, when they come home from school, and they want a quick snack before tea.
At 27p you cant really moan.
Summary: An ok biscuit, but nothing special

- 22/10/08 With a lot of these cheap versions, I find the chocolate covering isn't real chocolate but a substitute to mimic the real thing. |
