Advantages: Great value, good taste

Disadvantages: Tend to go 'soggy'

Asda Smart Price Chocolate Digestives - the clue is in the title! Smart Price - you get what you pay for as they say. The Smart Price range is Asda's 'economy' range of items, and they most definately are for those on a budget, starting at only around 9p, with these particular biscuits coming in a 27p. When you compare that to some of the other more famous brands of digestives, you can see why many people would choose these.

So, the 'no frills' idea comes into play straight away - even the packaging is as plain as possible, in cheap white material, bearing the green Smart Price logo. They certainly don't jump off the shelf at you.
However, you shouldnt judge a book by it's cover, and the actual biscuits themselves to make up a little for the packaging.

They have a nice oaty taste, and a generous covering of chocolate, although not quite as thick as some of the pricier brands.

You get about 2 dozen in a pack, and are very moreish - I'm sure I could probably finish a packet in one sitting!

The only problem I've found with the biscuits themselves are they do tend to feel a little 'soggy' and do tend to go soft faster than other biscuits.

Overall, a good choice for the price, a nice enough tasting biscuit, and definately worth it for the value factor anyway!

Summary: A good biscuit for the price

Asda's "Smartprice" products tend to be lower quality than Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons equivalents.
