Premium Review Can't think of a funny tagline for frozen veg (411 words)

I've taken to buying frozen vegetable lately, because we just don't eat enough of them to warrant buying fresh, each week I was throwing away more than we were eating. It's not that I don't want to eat healthily, it's just that we tend to eat more pasta and salads than we do meals that have vegetable accompaniments. Frozen veg of course solve that dilemma because they don't go off, and you can just take out as much as you need. Nutritional Information The nutritional information for these is just an average, because it depends on how much of each item you get in your selection. Typical values Per handful ...  Read the complete review

Frozen mixed vegetables are a saviour when we are pushed for time. I have recently noticed an influx of vegetable pots, meaning plastic containers that hold maybe two portions of beautifully cut and prepared veggies that are ready to put in the microwave. I agree that this provides a quick and easy solution but it would not be cost effective for a family. All we seem to see and hear about lately is the importance of eating five portions of fruit and vegetables on a daily basis, I feel sorry for all the young Mothers who must struggle to disguise the vegetables so that their unsuspecting toddlers will swallow their greens. There are many types of mixed ...  Read the complete review

Asda Smartprice mixed vegetables come in a 907g bag that is available from Asda stores or www.asda.co.uk for 77p. The packaging is very simple white & green with a picture of the mixed vegetables in a bowl on the front. The back of the packet has cooking instructions & nutritional information as well as ingredients. This bag contains a mixture of peas, carrots, broccoli & cauliflower and can be cooked in a variety of ways and used in many different recipes. If I am going to be using this vegetables I normally get them out a couple of hours before, rinse them & then leave them in a saucepan of water but these can be cooked from frozen if you'd ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Mixed Vegetables: Asda Smartprice mixed (with snail) vegetables (412 words)

With a short notice dinner to prepare for nine I nipped into Asda and brought a bag of this mixed veg. I got it home and tipped it into a saucepan of water, put it on to boil and thought no more about it whilst I prepared the chops and potatoes for the veg to accompany. I must have missed this info on the packaging because rather than the mixed veg that I'm used to, which includes broccoli, cauliflower and baby carrots, this bag provided diced carrots. I've never been a fan of these tiny orange cubes but considering the rush I was in I decided to be open-minded, give them a fair trial and try not to be reminded of cold school dinners. We all sat ...  Read the complete review
