I am a firm believer that supermarket's own brand products are usually just fine, and where could this be more obviously likely than with Asda's own sweet pickle? Apart from the label on the jar, pickle seems to be much the same the world over does it not? Well we shall see! At around 25p for a 290g jar, this is the stuff of bargains, and I was really happy to see the jar is clear, so you can have a look in and see that all appears well inside too. The jar is made of thick glass, with a metal screw-top lid. This is a very sturdy design, and keeps your pickle well protected inside! Looks wise, the pickle is dark and rich brown in colour. ... I ended up trying this after reading a review from Claribella and I guess that is the beauty of Dooyoo. I stepped away from my normal brand named Branston Pickle and this worked out alright for me. I paid just 25p for a 290g jar, which is a good bit cheaper than the brand name. The packaging isn't that exciting, but myself and hubby are the only ones to have seen this in the fridge and it doesn't bother us. It is a clear glass jar and it has a white wrap around label on it. We started off buying this pickle but when my hubby and I went on a hardcore diet, we realized that Branston contained less sugar than this version so swapped. We have recently pulled in the reins on our shopping budget and decided that we'd go back to this stuff which is why I am reviewing it today! The pickle cost 25p for a 290g jar and it is part of the Smartprice range at Asda. The chunks are slightly smaller than the Branston pickle but I don't mind this because it fit's better into a sandwich.
