Teacakes can be a bit 'hit or miss' if you stray away from the name brands but I must admit that I do buy these for the boys every now and again. When I say 'boys', I mean Noah! Elijah is 13 months now and he only ever had his first taste of chocolate a month a og. I really hat the idea of overloading him with sweet stuff at such a young age so when Noah gets this, he gets some raisins, poor thing! The teacakes cost just 30p for a 125g packet and inside you will find a circular biscuit base topped with marshmallow and the whole thing is covered in milk chocolate. usually we stick to the good old Tunnock's teacakes - so light and creamy! Though we decided to tighten our money belts and try the Asda Smart Price Teacakes for a change - but would we be impressed? Asda Smart Price range products can be found in the green and white wrapping. When you move a teacake your box, you can fit it into the palm of your hand, no bother at all. It's quite small, and has a milk chocolate coating. There is not much of an aroma. Biting into the teacake is a disappointment. These little atrocities are really something make a mention of! Me and my friend were persuaded to buy these because at 29pence for 125g, they really are a bargain for a last minute tea party/picnic and I can understand why people buy them because if you are on a budget then they are a bargain buy. Taste wise these teacakes are vaguely edible and they aren't the most horrific thing I have ever eaten but they are by no means something I would bother reaching for a second one of.
