Advantages: Great price, recyclable bottle.
Disadvantages: Not easy to get the sauce out once you get further down the bottle!
My other half went shopping for tea recently and came back with this in the place of our usual Heinz or similar variety of sauce.
The receipt showed me that this product cost just 32p, so about £1.00 saving based on our normal purchase.
The bottle is glass with a screw top lid, it has a white label with the standard smartprice logo and shows the ingredients (water is the main one of course!).
I prefer squeezy bottles to glass bottles as I don't like having to hit the bottle and wait for the sauce to come out.
The consistency of this sauce was quite watery and even though I had shaken the bottle up quite a bit I was still left with a very watery part at the beginning and then once the sauce got flowing I was left with almost 1/4 of a plate full of ketchup.
I did find that the taste wasn't too disimilar to normal branded Heinz ketchup, however, it did have a watery taste and the tomato flavour wasn't as high as I would like it.
This is fairly high in calories per 15g but then that's pretty standard for tomato ketchup.
I would recommend this product if you are looking to save some pennies, although bear in mind that you'll end up with lots more on your plate and this would kind of become a false economy product but then the price saving is quite significant!
I like to use ketchup in sandwiches, on chips, with chicken, lots of things really. I'm making myself hungry just thinking about it and last night I used it with my tea (a fish finger sandwich) yum!
Not a bad product, not for 32p anyway!
Summary: I would recommend this product, it's great value!
