Asda Tomatoe Ketchup Is Not Anything Like Heinz, You Get What You Pay For (Asda Smartprice Tomato Ketchup)

I've tried a number of supermarket own brand Tomatoe Sauces Or Tomatoe Kethups) and never found one of these cheap brands that comes up to the standard of my favourite brand, which, like many other people, is Heinz.

However, I have been trying to make a few savings on my weekly shop lately so I thought I might give this Asda Tomatoe Ketchup a try. I t was only 36p for botttle of aboutrt he same size as the heinz equivalent, priced at 82p.

So, I bought it and set off home to pick up fish and chips on the way and feed myself. I didn't test the ketchup first. I just sloshed it all over my meal. I say sloshed because I shook it rather hard and didn't expect it to be as thin.

This isn't like Heinz. It is lighter in colour, more vinegary and thinner. it also has a slightly peppery tang to it. I didn't like it and end up throwing the whole lot in the bin after scraping what I could from the surface of my fish and chips.

I'm not impressed. There are many Asda own brand products that are excellent value but this isn't one of them as far as I'm concernd.

Their brown sauce is fine but not this. If you are a heinz Tomatoe Sauce fan you won't enjoy this for for those who really don't care about it much, it's a good bargain.

Summary: Ok if you aren't a tomatoe sauce expert!
