... im affraid. I do love winegums and if i am going to get a packet of sweets i am likely to buy winegums but i always buy Maynards wine gums and enjoy them so i thought i would give the Smartprice ones a try. While the taste of these sweets is not disgusting and certainly not the worst thing you will ever taste but they are no where near the standard of Maynards. These are a more chewy and have alot less taste and has a rather awful after taste which lingers in your mouth and is hard to shift! The only reason i ...more

Premium Review Asda Smartprice Wine Gums: Slightly better than others but still not good (302 words)

I have quite a sweet tooth and love to eat sweets, chocolate, biscuits etc now and again but find the prices quite steep for the leading brands and have been trying out some of the supermarket own brands and value brands on a mission to find some good alternatives to the leading brands which are just as good, if not better for a fraction of the price. I've always been fond of Wine Gums, as has my dad. Maynards wine gums however can be quite expensive for what they are and so for a while we have been looking for alternatives. That was when I found Asda's Smart Price Wine Gums, which are now a popular purchase within our family. The sweets in question come in a very plain white and green bag with the words Asda Smart Price Wine Gums printed prominently on the front. The front of the bag also tells me that the sweets contain no artificial colours or flavours. The back of the packet is simply white in colour and has green writing on it that tells me how to store the sweets and Asda's refund policy as well as ...  Read the complete review
