“ Manufactuer: Asda / Type: Jam „
I love jam on almost anything so I do! I'm sure I'm a related to Paddington bear! lol. I get through jars of the stuff a week and my Mother who buys it moans she can't keep up with my consumption of it!
She tends to grab whatever is on offer when she's doing the weekly shop and she bagged this a couple of weeks ago for me when shopping in Asda.
454g glass jar with a dark green screw on/off lid to the top of and on that there is a pop up gold safety spot to let you know if it's been opened or tampered with before you purchase it. On the front there is a label and on that there is a picture of fresh, plump looking strawberries on a red and white checked tablecloth and over that I'm told it is Asda Strawberry Jam 'With juicy bits' and the size is stated. Other information on the label includes contact details for Asda, ingredients and nutritional advice is given as is storage advice and that's about it really. It's a nice enough jar and doesn't look cheap or anything!
As soon as you open the jar you are met with a sweet but natural strawberry smell. The jam itself when first dug into is quite stiff in texture but spreadable all the same and the more you use of it the sloppier it becomes and this really does need storing in the fridge (which is recommended, and once opened can be stored this way for up to 6 weeks) cos other wise it's just like a thin jelly and it does melt!
It tastes nice enough, natural and not too sweet at all. The texture is a bit thin in my opinion though as I have it is tasty and there are plenty of seeds in it giving a bit of crunch to it.
It's a nice enough jam though nothing special and I would like a few strawberry pieces in there which this sadly doesn't have but for the price it's a nice enough fairly smooth and spreadable jam!
