Advantages: Beautfiul looking and tasting - cheap

Disadvantages: So moreish!

One thing we need to clear first is this bread is addictive! If you have a weak spot for bread and you have the motto "one more slice won't hurt" this may not be the loaf for you as it can easily go in one day (not speaking from personal experience of course *ahem*)

If I get a tiger loaf, I will always get it from Asda. You tend to get tiger bread from any supermarket which has it's own instore bakery but none of the others seem to match up to Asda's.

You can buy a tiger loaf in Asda in two different sizes. I tend to go for the smaller one simply so I don't end up eating a full one! The small loaf is around 67p but they do have a special on at the moment where you can buy two small loaves for £1.50. They have a larger loaf which is roughly twice the size of the smaller one for £1.00. If you prefer buns, they do have a four pack of tiger rolls for about 65p.

Getting back to the loaf in question, it has a very distinctive look. The outside of the loaf is always a deep brown colour. It looks to me as if they put some sort of glaze on the outside which is slightly flavoured. The loaf tricks you as the outside looks very crispy and hard but ends up being quite chewy in the mouth.

I do find it difficult to cut this loaf sometimes as the centre is so soft and fluffy and I have been known to half cut - half tear a piece as I have been so impatient. When you bite into the loaf, the crust has a bite to it and then it is closely followed by the melt in the mouth fluffy centre. I can safely say thought, one slice is never enough. The same if you buy the rolls, they get very moreish. I have been known to have one roll and pop the other three in the freezer, just to deter me from having another!

When I eat this bread, I tend to eat it plain or with butter or margarine on it. Personally, I like to taste this bread and wouldn't want any sandwich fillers or sauces taking the taste away from this beautiful bread.

Summary: Cheap, delicious bread.

OMG I love this bread so much! It's so addictive and my sister always tells me off for not eating the crust :(

One of my (many!)weaknesses! LOVE the stuff.
They use a sesame paste on the top. Would love a slice right now. Great review thanks.
