No-one makes it like the Greeks but it will get you through British Summer Time!

The greek islands are my favourite holiday destination, and a trip to any of these islands is not complete without a regular dose of tzatziki, which is a dip made up of yogurt, cucumber and garlic. Whilst it is impossible to find this product anywhere near as tasty in Britain as in Greece, Asda's version is a fine example of the balance of ingredients that made up the dip.

Asda's thick and creamy dip has small pieces of cucumber that give it a lovely crunch to each bite and just the right amount of garlic to be tasty without being overpowering. You do get left with a rather strong garlic taste in your mouth later on in the day, but this is what I have found with all supermarket brand tzatziki dips.

It is best enjoyed with warm toasted pitta bread but also good as part of a healthy lunchtime snack with sticks of celery. It is a nice alternative to your usual salad dressings or delicious with my favourite combination - chips, grated cheese and a dollop of tzatziki on top!

The shelf life of this product is short - once you have opened it you must eat within a couple of days, and if sealed you have to eat within a week or so. Still, Asda's version of this Greek classic is good enough to have you hunting through the fridge long after you've mopped it all up!
