I became quite addicted to this product for a while, and told my housemate about it who was initially disgusted by the idea of frozen microwaveable mashed potatos. Well, in her words she 'ate her hat'. This product is amazing, basically, it does exactly what it says on the bag - it is real mash that has been frozen and shaped into patties. You simply remove the required amount of patties, microwave and enjoy. The taste is amazing, lovely and creamy and buttery, you can add more salt and loads of black pepper if you wish but in my opinion it doesnt need it. The main appeal of this product to me is that it is an easy accompaniment for meals when you ... Read the complete review

Peel the potato, put in water, boil, then mash. Simple. So when my daughter asked me to buy her some mash potato I could not believe what I was hearing! She was paying 99p for a pot of potato. This was too much for one but not enough for 2. So when out shopping one day we saw that Aunt Bessie does mash potato and although this was more expensive you could use as little or as much as you wanted at a time. Aunt Bessies Mash potato comes in 900g bags and at the moment costing around £2.00. Inside are 5cm circular or puck size pieces 1cm thick.I am not sure how many are in there but it is at least 25. The potato is ... Read the complete review

I like having a starchy option other than chips to eat, but mash potato always seems like a lot of hassle when you're only making it for one person. I tried Smash last year and wasn't so keen on it. It was quick and easy, but had a smell and taste that wasn't particularly appealing. I came across Aunt Bessie's frozen mash and saw on the packet that it's a Delia cheat...if it's good enough for her then it's good enough for me! Homestyle Frozen Mash is made by Aunt Bessie who produce a range of quality traditional comfort foods that are simple and easy to make. It's a popular manufacturer however I've noticed that not all supermarkets seem to stock their frozen ... Read the complete review

Ok, firstly lets be clear! I HATE MASHED POTATO! I think it stems from when I was a child and my childminder used to make me sausage and mash. The mash was so lumpy it just made me feel sick and since then I have been sworn off mash (and sausages for that matter). My mum makes it every now and then and each time I sit gagging if I find even the smallest lump of potato. I decided to try this just to "check" that it was horrible really... Its devine! Its so rich, creamy and fluffy and not one lump to be found. I wolfed down a whole plate much to the amazement of my family. The texture is very smooth and goes down lovely. ... This product is my number one convenience food. As a full time working mum I don't always have as much time as I would like to spend on cooking and I use these potatoes as a cheat on a regular basis! What are they? Basically it is frozen potatoes that you can microwave in a couple of minutes (2.5 to be precise) The potato is in small circular shapes and around five pieces amount to an average portion of potatoes (depending on your appetite. To cook a portion you simply put in the microwave for 2.5 mins, add some milk & butter and stir. The milk and butter are optional. The Potatoes are widely available and I have seen them in ...
