Advantages: delicious, quite healthy, reasonable price

Disadvantages: /

As a child I always loved Yorkshire Puddings. No Sunday lunch at my Grandma's house would be complete without Yorkie Puds! With their middles swimming with gravy, and mint sauce smeared around the egde, it's the perfect recipe. Though it wasn't until quite a while later that I discovered Yorkshire Puddings with sausages, but oh how they were worth the wait!

I have had a few of those dinner kits, the ones you shove in the microwave, with the large yorkshire pudding, and the sausages and vegetables in the middle, and I must say they are one of the most delicious instant meals around! So when I came acros the Aunt Bessie's Tidgy Toads, I was keen to try them from the word go.

The little toad in the holes come in a cardboard box, with the Aunt Bessie logo on the front. The picture of the tidgy toads look absolutely gorgeous, full of flavour and texture, but as we know looks can be deceiving. Only time would tell if these were really that delicious!

The little puds can be cooked in the oven for a little while, and once they emerge you will see they have risen high up from their silver foil cases. A delicious aroma not too unlike the Sunday atmosphere drifts around you as you (carefully) remove the puds from the oven tray and place them onto their plates. I must admit, they do look as amazing as they should, with a golden yorkshire pudding and luscious brown pork sausages.
After allowing to cool, it is time to taste. You will find the yorkshire pudding part to be incredibly soft and fluffy, with an amazing taste, just as good as Aunt Bessie's normal Yorkshire Puddings. As for the sausages, well they are deliciously juicy and soft too, with a strong meaty taste. Together the pud and the sausage provide a delicious little eat.

Each tidgy toad contains 115 calories and 5.4g fat, as well as 0.8g fat. I must say, those values are wonderful. These are not too small, about the size of your palm, but you would not be able to eat them alone. I would suggest them with a Sunday lunch, you cannot go wrong with that - maybe add them to your Christmas lunch this year!
A pack of four tidgy toads will cost you around £1 to £1.50, depending on where you shop. That is not too bad a price, I must admit. They are available in most good supermarkets though, so they are not hard to find. If you love toad in the hole, or even just yorkshire puddings or Aunt Bessie's in general, then these are most certainly worth a try. They are simply delicious and wont ruin the waist line either!
