Advantages: Great taste and texture.
Disadvantages: Not big enough to fill me and unwrapping that envelope wrapping when hot was a nightmare!
~ My Personal Experience ~
As a fervent sweet lover, fruit salad sweets are very tasty and certainly mouth watering. I preferred these over the Black Jack sweets as they had a nicer taste to them. The texture of the fruit salad sweets were at first hard and rectangular and had a yellow and pink colour to them.
I remember my granny always used to give me these when I went to visit her every weekend and as a child you always looked forward to grannies as she had lots of goodies and sweeties for me to gobble on.
~ What do they taste like? ~
They taste quite fruity but I wouldn't say that it tastes exactly like a fruit salad sweet but still for the length these have been around they must have done something right, maybe it was the price as they were very cheap to buy. The flavour is quite appealing and moorish and make you want to eat more and more, very juicy on my taste buds! It came in a pineapple and raspberry flavour and just opening the little envelope to discover the sweet inside was very thrilling as a child.
~ What do they smell like? ~
Well if you're into this kind of thing (smelling sweets) then you won't be surprised to find out that it just smells like a fruity flavoured sweet, not that strong but just enough to appeal to your weaknesses.
~ Shop & Price ~
As I love these I decided a few weeks ago to find some fruit salad sweets and found them on this website: www.aquarterof.co.uk/fruit-salad-p-125.html. They sell them here for around £1.83 per quarter and a great price too.
~ In my opinion... ~
I believe that these were great sweets which went well with all those other penny sweeties you used to be able to buy as a young child. These were very popular, mainly because they were very addictive and tasty too.
The price too was a factor as you could buy thousands for only £1 which meant they would last you a week or so. I most relate these with hot summer days as you could relax in a field somewhere and chew on a few of these and they did just the job, filled me until my tea was ready.
Lots of great memories, lots of flavour and a classic sweet.
