Advantages: soft succulent chewy nougat with nuts

Disadvantages: not good for the fillings

Oh how I love Bassets soft nougat bars soft squishy nougat and almonds running throughout it in two colours white down one side and pink down the other.
I remember these from my childhood days and that was a very long time ago now. I still buy one on the odd occasion even today and adore them so much.
I just sit and pig the whole thing to myself. They come in two sizes the smaller easier to eat size which is about 1/4" in depth and about 6" in length and about 1 1/2" wide, and the other which is slightly longer in length and definitely deeper about 1/2" in depth and around the same width as the smaller one.
The flavour is of course creamy nougat which has a strawberry cream flavour to it which is subtile and not overpowering in anyway so you can still taste the almonds real ones flowing through it. They are slightly softer than normal almonds but still give a nice bite.
Coated in a floury outside I assume its icing sugar and flour mix but could be wrong.

All I know is that I am addicted to this stuff nearly as much as I am addicted to chocolate so there you have it. If there were such a thing as chocolate coated bassets nougat I would be first in line for it. YUM YUM.
