I have to admit that these little jelly babies were the first jelly babies I ate in my life, of course followed by other random brands. These bassets jelly babies have always been sweets that I eat randomly I would possibly say a packet in six months because they are bad influence though they've got an innocent name and the packet is rather colourful mainly to attract you into buying them as they look lively from the outside. Of course bassets is quiet a popular company whom have been there for more than 70years now and they specialize in making all sorts of sweets, which some of them I don't fancy (wine gums etc). The company is rather popular and so are the ... Read the complete review

Jelly babies are one of my favourite sweets out on the current market. They have been around for as long as I can remember and seem to be a popular sweet through all the generations. Jelly babies are made by Bassets and are a soft chewy sweet made out of gelatine and various other ingredients. The sweets are shaped in the form of little babies , hence the name and come in five different flavours with each flavour having its own colour and shape. The Jelly babies brand has even become so popular that each Jelly baby has a name and these are listed below. Strawberry - Red - Brilliant Lime - Green - Boofuls Orange - Orange - Bumper Lemon ... I think that putting gelatine in sweets is a silly thing to do, and it makes it harder for vegetairians to keep off meat. I am a ten year old girl thats vegaterian and I personaly think that eating meat or gelatine ( Technically another meat product ) gives cancer, no matter how old. Sweets manufacturers should try to make sweets that do not contain Gelatin or other animal products. The fact that there are alot of other sweets in the world without Gelatine means that Gelatine really is not a must when it comes to confectionary. Thus if one sweet company can make sweets suitable for vegetarians then why cant all of them!. I believe that sweet companies use Gelatine as a ... Read the complete review

***Packaging*** Jelly Babies come in a bright yellow bag. This is very eye catching and noticeable. The bag is very eye catching especially to children as there are different colour jelly baby characters on the front of the bag. These are in bright colours with a bold black outline which stands out against the yellow bag. ***Price*** For a 215g bag these cost around £1.50 at my local newsagent. Asda currently have 215g bags of Jelly Babies on special offer for £1.00 per bag which is great value. These are a larger "share size" bag therefore many cinema's sell Jelly Babies in their range of confectionary for £3.00 ... Read the complete review

***Bassetts Jelly Babies*** Got a bit of a sweet tooth at the moment and as ever looking for things on offer. I saw these on offer in Tesco and thought I would buy some to take me back to my childhood. ***What are they like?*** These are individual jelly shaped sweets that are of course supposed to resemble babies! The packaging is nice and bright; it is yellow in the main with colourful graphics and some jelly babies on the front. It states quite clearly that they are made with natural colours and flavours and in fact are made with real fruit juice. If you turn to the back of the packet there are little picures, naming ...
