Advantages: Nice, Easy, Filling
Disadvantages: Not the tastiest
With the kettle boiling and hunger striking, I remembered hearing that the best thing to eat whilst ill was soup so I though I'd make myself a bowl of cuppa soup (Chicken and Vegetable flavour) for dinner with a few buns. Now when I say bowl it seems to surprise some people who then claim it's the wrong way to have cuppa soup, though every time I try having it in a cup I make a mess and the buns don't fit in the cup properly, the consistency is never right and it's impossible to drink it, so a bowl with a cup full of boiling water is the best idea. To supplement this I've 4 buns and an appetite that needs feeding.
Coming in a dehydrated form (similar to Pot Noodles) the powder in the sachet needs emptying into a cup or bowl then needs water (preferably boiling) added and then stir the to together so the product dissolves properly. After this you should be left with a pale soup with bits of carrot and croutons (which are in some cuppa soup variations including this one, but not all) floating on the top. When mixed properly the majority of the product should have a runny consistency with the floating parts on the top remaining solid.
The taste of the soup is quite light and soft, with a chicken taste being the primary one (and despite how unfair it is to comment on taste whilst having a cold I can say it has a light taste from past experience). A rather nice one though perhaps a little weak compared to liquid based soups that come in cans, though they do take more effort than this ever would to make.
1 Sachet is enough to make a bowl and it is a rather filling meal when eaten with a few buns, so that's always a bonus when eating food. It's always quite annoying when your ill, lazy and unable to eat enough to fill you up. And so overall these are a nice meal, I wouldn't have it as my main meal of the day most days, and dare say I will have something else later on, but this is a nice mid day meal that I have enjoyed when I've been feeling well as well as when I'm ill.
