Pasta n sauce

So, it's day four of the slimming world diet and I'm doing well, eating good food and feeling. Positive. Until today I logging into their site which is for members only to help me with some idea's for recipes, because I work funny hours with my care assistant job. I was looking for foods which I could take to work and microwave or cook quickly in my break. I had already stocked up on noodles and these Pasta n sauce from Bachelors, but now I have found they are about 30 syns and cannot have them because of the fat and calories content. As I am only allowed up to 10 - 15 syns a day.
Anyway, apart from this bit of sad news I still would recommend them to you if your not on a diet and looking for something quick and very easy to make, as well as being delicious to eat.

THE PRODUCT
Is made by bachelors which is a very well known brand, they have been around for years and are more well known for their soups.
This is pasta twists dried and securely packed for your convenience, quick to make 8-10 minutes in a pan or even quicker if you have a microwave, as they then take 10 minutes, for a 650 watt microwave, 9 minutes if you have a 750w or 8 minutes if you have a 850w or over.
Just add 2.4 litres of water and microwave.
To cook on a hob.
Open the packet empty into your pan and add 425mls of water boil gently for about 8- 10 minutes leave for the sauce to thicken and then serve.
If you have any queries about this product you ring 0800 2227222 which is a free phone number. You get 128g of pasta n sauce for a good sized portion of yummy pasta.

THE PACKAGING
This is the well known bachelors packaging the familiar dark blue packs with the red Bachelors logo on the front. It is a sealed square packet with the flavour locked in. Produced in the UK in kings Lynn.
These are easy to spot on the super market shelves.
There is a fork with the past n sauce shown on the front, the words Pasta n Sauce written above and below the picture, quite an appetising picture to attract your attention.
Especially if you're a bit hungry when you go in the supermarket, as you see it and think yes that's easy and quick to make.

THE TASTE
Well, needless to say this is very good for a dried food product, it's easy to make and the sauce is nice and thick, you can taste the tomatoes and the herbs which are parsley and oregano. The sauce is spread evenly over the pasta whilst cooking and for a quick and easy snack this is nice and tasty. You can get other flavours too and they are just as good. The pasta isn't too spongy either, if you cook it for the right amount of time, checking the pasta with a fork every now and then as you stir it, you will be able to make it to the consistency of your taste. I like mine a little soft.

INGREDIENTS
Now this is where you get the gist of what goes into your food, there is drum wheat, & egg which is the pasta. Then the flavourings are tomato powder, salt, hydrogenated vegetable oil, flavour enhancers E621 and E635 Herbs ( parsley and Oregano) Dried Garlic colour, citric acid, beetroot flavour, flavourings and milk powder.
Now I don't know about you but I like to read this information as I like to know what I'm eating, the herds are alright and the pasta with the beetroot flavour which will make up the colour of the sauce.
What I don't like id the E numbers or when it says flavourings, as these could be any artificial flavourings they choose to add.
So I think is would be better if they wrote what these flavourings actually were. Then you knew what you was eating, after all you could be allergic to them and not know you've eaten them until it's too later.

OTHER INFORMATION AND WHAT I THINK
The calorie content is quite high for this product and if your on a diet then one packet of this is going to punch a great big 470 calories out of your 1000 a day allowance.
Not only that the fat content is 2.7g and the carbohydrate content is 92.9g which means this is not all that good for if your dieting. On the other hand if your not then this is a good fast easy snack for you to make when your peckish./
If your on a budget it's quite reasonably prices as I bought this at the fantastic low price of 97p half price offer at Morrisons.
I think it's a good bargain, kids will love it and if you're a busy person then this would make a good meal for the kids at tea time.

Summary: Good value
