Being a student, I do opt for the easy way out when it comes to cooking certain things. If there is once thing I have never really learned to cook then it would be rice. I can cook the rest of the usual things like pasta etc but rice just is hard to get perfect. I was in my local Asda and came across an offer on Batchelors Savoury Rice, I don't usually like these artificial things as they are normally fattening but I do like flavoured rice and the flavour range seemed quite good so I decided to throw in a few, at the worst if I didn't like them I could just throw them away. I regularly use Batchelors Savoury Rice as accompaniment to meals and as a snack. With a variety of flavours now available including Beef, Chicken, Golden Vegetable and Mild Curry, there is a rice to suit every meal. I often have a packet with salad or on its own and use the Beef flavour most often with chilli con carne, curry or in tortilla wraps or a beef stir fry. These are so versatile and I always have a mix of flavours in my cupboard. They are currently priced per 120g packet: Tesco 68p (3 for £1.20) Asda 58p (4 for £2.00) Sainsburys 53p The Beef flavour contains raw long grain rice mixed with dried peas, carrot and ...
