Advantages: cheapish quick easy filling worm shaped

Disadvantages: I do not like them much

Appologies to Batchelors for my tittle . I was not infering that supernoodles are as disgusting to eat as worms and rats entrails

NOODLES, Yes you guessed it I have a Halloween trick up my sleeve ( or under my witches hat ) using noodles, It does not matter which noodles you use but super cook noodles already have a place here and I have used super noodles before ( not for this game but for sustenance. )

Now little witches and wizards and ghosts and ghouls I am glad you came to my party we can make a magic potion, have some great food to eat slugs, snails, worms, blood to drink. First before we make the brew you have to be blindfolded to taste the ingredients of our spell. I have some bowls of the ingredients ready no peeping I will spoon you mouthfuls of the items and you have to guess what it is in your mouth before we make the magic potion. Are you blindfolded?
I pick up the bowl get a spoonful of………. . open your mouth (…..) there isn’t that nice what does it feel like mmm yes yes its long thin no slime on it its soft does not melt what do you think it is mmmmmmmmmmmmm tasty slightly meaty and spicy go on suck another spoonful, worms did you say hee hee hee centipedes maybe, what’s that you really want to see ? Not sure that you like it? Well I promise it won’t harm you one more taste. There now other guess rat’s intestines did you say? Ok I will let you peep blindfold off, there you are. Oh you say its only noodles. I had you fooled there didn’t I would you like to finish eating that bowl full I think the flavour is BBQ beef? You finish eating and I will find another bowl of Halloween treats for your friends to taste.

The noodles I pretended to do this trick with at a Halloween party were super noodles by Bachelors.
These super noodles come dehydrated in a pack with a sachet of flavouring the flavours are Chicken, Mushroom,, Bacon, Mild Curry, Barbecue Beef, Thai Curry, Chinese Chow Mein, Sweet and Sour,Tex Mex, Balti, Spicy Salsa, Southern Fried Chicken, Cheese and Ham, Spag Bol., not sure which one tastes most like worm

Now the serious bit Bachelors super noodles are easily found available in most supermarkets. Tesco sells them for 37p a pack on special offer this week 3 for a pound.
The pack contains 100g of dried noodles with a sachet containing flavouring, I have listed flavourings above.

100g of noodles is about the right size for one person to eat, so s is ideal for warm snack midday. They will give you 490 calories per serving and 20g fat so not ideal for slimming.
When you open a packet they do smell a little artificial. To cook them you need access to either microwave, hob or at the very least boiling water. The noodles are very dry and brittle easy to break.
To prepare super noodles put the noodles in a microwave bowl add 1/2 pint boiling water and cook for 5 minutes, do stir midway though to ensure they are all cooked.
You can put them in a saucepan on the hobbwith ½ pint boiling water and cook for 5 minutes remembering to stir. Remember to open add the flavouring sachet.
Or if you only have access to boiling water put the noodles and boiling water in bowl and soak until soft takes a bit longer but hey its easy peasy.

You can eat these noodles without any additions or with cold meats salads fish anything that takes your fancy. There are a few ideas on the packs
So what do they taste like , well to be hones I am not keen on them the noodles a bit bland the flavourings are very much like those dried soups you can get (probably is)
I rarely eat these noodles but have taken them on camping holidays as emergency rations and my daughter ate many in her university years

Since Bachelors super noodles came on the market other noodles appeared that you just cook in the pot, so Bachelors now do a super noodles to go product that you just pour boiling water into the pot they are packaged in. As yet these only come in Roast Chicken, Curry, Sweet and Sour, Chinese Chowmein I have yet to be tempted by these.
These Bachelors super noodles are not the cheapest flavoured noodles to buy as Tesco / Sainsbury and other store I guess make their own for a lot less money so if you students really need filling cheaply maybe they would suffice , not sure if they taste worse or not . If I was trick or treating with noodle worms would probably go for the own store noodles, but for my Halloween party for kids I know will choose Bachelors super noodles... for further info see www.http: //experts.about.com/e/s/su/Super_Noodles.htm.

Have fun getting your monsters to guess what the noodles might be before removing the blindfold and eating the bowl full.

Oh yes I use noodles for sensory work with my students at work touching both dry and wet noodles good science lesson on changes. , Think that’s all must dash got to go to the library books due back.

Summary: An al;ternate use of supernoodles
