Being a student, just eating anything to survive is probably the best way to describe it of course we do live on a lot of takeaways and the occasional nice meal when we can be bothered to put our cooking skills to the test. However, I have to say if it wasn't for Bachelor's Super Noodles I don't think I'd be alive as they have definitely been the main thing I have been living on but I never get bored of them really. I know there are alternative noodle companies such as Tesco and Asda's own 8p noodles or China Town another company and Pot Noodle but to me Bachelor's are the best although it takes a while to perfect them.

The company was founded in Sheffield in 1985 when a previous tea salesman William Batchelor had seen potential in packaged foods and tea in the market. The brand now do Cup-a-Soups, Savoury Rice, Pasta'n'Sauce and Super Noodles.

The packaging of all Batchelors products is very distinct as they are all in blue packaging. Each individual flavours has its own colour to it but they are all in foil packs so they are metallic packets. The red Batchelors logo is at the top of the packet and in bright white text is the words Super Noodles. Then a fork with some noodles is displayed across the packet on a metallic start with the flavour colour. Cooking instructions are listed on the back and all come in a 100g packet.

The nutritional information is also listed on the back; it states there are no artificial colours or preservatives. Each 100g pack contains 176 calories and 7.9g of fat which I suppose doesn't make them the healthiest snack ever but they are quick to cook and in that sense easy enough. It says that this serves 2 but I always eat a whole pack to myself as does everyone I know as there isn't a lot too them.

So, now for how to cook them, well this depends originally I used to do them in the microwave but I kept finding they were quite watery this way and ever since I started cooking them on the hob I noticed the flavour was a lot more present. I know everyone cooks their noodles differently but this is what I do. I open the pack boil the kettle and put the hob on. I pour the boiling water into the saucepan let it boil then empty the contents sachet into the heated water. This then brings out the flavour instantly and then I break the noodles up and add them in and wait until they are ready, sometimes adding more water as the sauce can evaporate quickly depending on how high the heat is turned up.

If made properly the noodles shouldn't have stuck to the pan and the sauce colour should be quite thick but not too runny as I like them to have a thick sauce I hate when it is watery.

They are ready to serve and I have to say I usually have these for my lunch and they definitely keep my full through out the day until it is time for dinner. I do have my favourite flavours though; I think personally the one for me which turns out best every time is probably Barbecue Beef. Other flavours I like are Bacon, Southern Fried Chicken, Mild Curry, Cheese and Ham, Chinese Chow Mein but there are also others like Sweet Mexican Chilli, Sweet & Sour they have a huge range and also do the light noodles as well it just depends what you like.

These are always going up in price I notice though and sometimes I do not feel they are worth the money. They are normally 42p a pack but if you watch out for the offers such as right now in Asda it is 5 for £1 so I stocked up while this was on.
