Ben and Jerrys in GeneralNewest Review: ... so far, reduced energy use on their 11 farms by 2%, and converted all their farms to green energy. Also, in 2002, Ben & Jerry's in the USA committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 10% by 2007." Ben and Jerrys are manufacturers of ice cream, frozen yogurt, sorbet, and ice cream novelty products. They are now a division of the British-Dutch Unilever conglomerate, headquartered in South Burlington, Vermont,United States. They were founded by two self confessed hippies, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield (hence the name) in 1978. They have been lifelong friends and came from a very hippy style background and so wanted to open a... more |

When looking for an ethical company one doesn't have to look much further than Ben and Jerry's. These days ethical companies seem to do very well as their is a lot of attention on the environment and making sure that companies fulfil their ethical obligations. I think a lot of companies protest to be green or ethical and don't always carry out those promises but I have to say that I do think Ben and Jerry's are a true company and do stick to their word. Here is some information that I read about them recently that only helps to support my feelings about them. According to an article I read, "since 2003, Ben & Jerry's have been working on a sustainable Caring ... Read the complete review

What Do You Get? This comes in a carton made with cardboard. The carton is a circular shape and like all of the other products from the Ben and Jerry's range. It is very attractively designed. You will see a lot of the colour purple on it and this varies from deep purple to a light and quite bright purple. The two colours blend in together perfectly and fit in with the lid. Which is coloured just like the rest of the carton except it is black around the rim. You will also see pictures of chocolate shaped like a fish on the left and right. The pictures of the fish shaped chocolate have a blue glow behind them and in-between this you will see the ... Read the complete review

I don't think there is a household in the world that doesn't know the name of 'Ben and Jerry's' regarding ice cream. If you've never tasted it then you would probably have seen in most American films or sitcoms; it usually comes out of the freezer when someone is upset or fallen out with a boyfriend. Ben and Jerrys have such a vast freezer full of different flavours of ice cream and here are just a few: Phish Food Chocolate Fudge Brownie Caramel Chew Chew Cookie Dough Strawberry Cheesecake Vanilla Chunky Monkey These are not your average flavours so there is something there for everyone. Ben And Jerrys produce a large range of unique, flavourable and delicious ice creams. They come in cardboard tubs and I usually buy the 500ml ones, which cost around £4.00, but you can currently buy many varieties at Tesco for just £1.99! This is a great deal as the ice cream is delicious and it's half price but this offer ends on the 8th September 2009. A few of the flavours include: One Cheesecake Brownie Chocolate Fudge Brownie Cookie Dough Caramel Chew Chew The cookie dough and chocolate fudge brownie varieties are available in smaller 150ml tubs for £1.99, which are ideal as a little snack. The flavours are delicious ... Read the complete review

Ok, if I manage to write the whole if this review without nipped downstairs for a bowl of Half-Baked (my favourite) I will be very impressed with myself. Where do we start? The day I finished my finals, the day I broke up with my boyfriend, a (few) bad days at work, a (few) good days at work, and so many days of feeling fed-up, Ben & Jerry's has been there! I love ice-cream, every kind, but I think every girl will agree there's something special about Phish Food, Half-Baked, Cherry Garcia, Cookie Dough...It's indulgent, but it's fun, too. Take Haagen Daz. I love Haagen Daz, but it has to be said you can't veg out in the sofa in ... Read the complete review
