Advantages: salty nuts -yeah!- & a good balance of icecream flavours
Disadvantages: can't think of a single one
I've got a new favourite flavour!
Pleasingly, this Ben & Jerry creation is not only made with Fairtrade sugar, vanilla & cocoa, but it's also vegetarian & climate neutral - which is like carbon neutral but more so, because it takes into account such emissions as methane. This makes me feel like I've done some kind of civic duty in polishing off an entire tub with my friend, rather than some greedy gannet who's just consumed - dear me - nearly 600 calories.
You know when you've pigged on Ben & Jerry's though, because it's so rich & creamy (this one: 30% cream!) & extremely satisfying. I thought this variety has got the balance of flavours just right: rich chocolate icecream layered with lighter vanilla, with just the right ammount of chocolate-coated crunchy macadamias - which surprisingly are quite salty to give a nice bit of variety. it's not as sickly as some of the others in the range as it lacks stuff like marshmallows & caramel which sometimes make Ben & Jerry's a bit oversweet for me. A winner.
Summary: an ice cream that's sweet & rich without being sickly.
