Remeber when your mum told you eating raw cookie mixture would give you stomach ache, well she was wrong. Did she tell you eating too much ice cream would make you sick? Well she was probably right and this is certainly an ice cream you'll find hard to stop eating.

It's a fantastically smooth creamy vanilla ice cream with great big chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough. It comes in a 500ml tub, which has the trademark Ben & Jerry's purple lid which makes it very easy to spot in the supermarket. My serving suggestion is to remove the tub from the freezer, leave the tub at room temperature for 5 minutes, get a spoon and dig in! I know it's difficult waiting 5 minutes before diving in and attacking those lovely big chunks of cookie dough but they do tend to go a little hard and dry when they're frozen. Giving them just 5 minutes to soften will enhance you enjoyment 100%.

If you really must fiddle with this ice cream (it really is perfection on it's own) and add your own toppings, I recommend hot fudge or serving on a freshly baked american style cookie, you know those soft chewy ones you can get from cookie jar.

Ben & Jerry's ice cream is on the expensive side but there is no need to worry you will never feel let down with you purchase, there are always plenty of chunks in every flavour, not like the Cherry Carte d'Or ice cream featured on watchdog last week.
