My current 1200 calorie a day diet is starting to wear thin, so instead of eating ice cream I thought I'd write about it, in the hope that some of my substantial cravings will subside...instead I fully expect to have blown my diet with an entire tub of B&J's by eleven PM tonight. Chunky Monkey is my favourite Ben & Jerry's ice cream, its certainly an unusual combination, and banana ice cream with chocolate and walnuts is enough to make some people feel queasy, but I adore it. The packaging Unlike some of the B&J packaging, which features cows, strawberries or chocolate fish (no jokes about chocolate starfish please, I'm eating), ... Read the complete review

Once upon a time lived a monkey. Being of the primate persuasion he was particularly fond of bananas. Imagine his delight, therefore, when he discovered that an ice cream was manufactured, which was banana flavoured. The little chimp thought that his luck was in and, as if this good fortune was not enough, he soon found that the ice cream also contained walnuts, to which he was also partial. The monkey ate the ice cream as a treat at the weekend. Then the monkey decided that he would have a pot on each day of the weekend. Soon he started to eat the dessert during the week as well. This was turning from a treat into a staple food! After many months of this ... Read the complete review

I am slowly working my way through Ben & Jerrys impressive itinerary of delicious flavours, it's been tough I can assure you but I must be strong and persevere. This week we have the seductive charms of the Chunky Monkey. Bannana ice cream with little chocolate bannanas and walnuts. A bit of a mixed bag for me as I love bannana, I definately love chocolate but I'm not mad at all about walnuts, in fact I plain old fashioned don't like them, but in the pursuit of fairness I thought I'd give them another chance. The quality of the Ice cream is good, its thick, luxurious and bannanery. Some Ice creams of this flavour have a very false taste nothing ... Read the complete review

This week I lost two pound on the diet because I had worked extra hard at being really good. Last night was 'munchies' night so after a huge Chinese takeaway, I was craving some ice cream. My hubby is such a kind man that he went all the way down to our local Sainsbury's and bought me back a tub of Ben and Jerry's. After reading a review of the chunky monkey flavour on dooyoo, I was very keen to try it even though my usual pick would be chocolate fudge brownie. What is it? The ice cream consists of a very creamy banana ice cream with dark chocolate and walnuts scattered throughout. The look. When I peeled back the lid, I was met with a ... Read the complete review

Ben & Jerry's is probably one of the best known ice creams in the world, probably second best after Walls in the UK, but it is THE best brand of ice cream out there in my opinion. From their range of exciting flavours (such as Mission to Marzipan, If I Had 1,000,000 Flavours and Fossil Fuel) to their ethics, I love it. I was very lucky as when I was younger I used to work in a restaurant for a few years that used Ben & Jerry's ice cream....and some may have accidently found it's way into my mouth.... Ben & Jerry's was created in 1978 in Vermont, USA by two hippies, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield after doing a course in ice cream making at Penn ... Read the complete review
